CB3800 Business Practice Internship is designed to provide students with real life working experience in local and overseas contexts for a period of time. With placements in international businesses, banking, financial services, insurance, accountancy firms, etc., students are expected to gain an in-depth and practical understanding of business operations and the professional contexts in which they are expected to apply the theory and skills they have learned in the formal curriculum. This course can also be used to fulfil the internship / consultancy project / research project requirement.
On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
Students will be placed into a company or organization for not less than six weeks full-time internship during the summer. Before the internship, students will participate in a one-day pre-internship training workshop on business ethics, business etiquette and interpersonal communication skills. During the internship, students will join a mid-term sharing and review session to help them identify adjustment issues in the workplace and ways to improve job performance. At the end of the internship, students are required to prepare and submit a report.
